Opportunity crosses my desk, email and ears on a daily basis. I would even go as far to say that it’s on an hourly basis. Sometimes opportunity creates itself, and sometimes you create opportunity from an idea. In this business, you have to continually create small marketing ideas that accumulate into the bigger picture. Hundreds of small victories turn into levels of result. How do we identify opportunity? Opportunity starts with a need. It’s not necessarily that you are able to create the best idea until you are confronted with a need by someone who has no idea how to cultivate. We, on the other hand, are cultivators…Web farmers, if you will. We can take a basic need and apply all of the various marketing directions and create a direction. Let’s create a “situation”
- The Need: A client needs sponsors for an event.
- The Figures : About $500
- ROI : Grab as much web saturation as possible.
Gain from a sponsorship this small will have to come by way of backlinks & press release traffic. It’s not always a concern that the PR be high if a site is going to deliver some specific traffic at a specific time.
